Where else have you lived?
I lived in Haiti for a couple of months in 1973 after graduating from college. I was with two anthropologists who were from Yale on a Ford Foundation Grant to collect all and any Haitian literature and create the first and only Haitian library. It was a very interesting opportunity, but I was very young- I wish now I had made more of it. but the poverty and the "military state" lifestyle scared me to death. When I got thru JFK
I layed down a nd kissed the ground of my home and was forever grateful for all the things I had taken for granted. The experience changed my life forever.
